چکیده

Vrious antitubercular agents are used the control and treatment of tuberculosis (TB). Currently, various works is going on in the research and development of new antiTB drugs for less side effects, more potent, short period of therapy and more importantly acive against multi drug resistant strains of Mycobacterium. In this continuation we study here thiolactomycin (TLM) and it analogues as anti-TB agent and effect of various substituents on TLM for development of more effective molecule with considerable potential. TLM is naturally occurring and exhibited potent in-vivo activity against many pathogenic bacteria including Mycobacterium strains. TLM inhibits bacterial and plant type-II fatty acid synthases (FAS-II) but not effective in mammalian or yeast type-I fatty acid synthases (FAS-I). This review provides an overview on the TLM derivatives and their structure activity relationship.

A Review on Potent Antitubercular Agent Isoniazid and Its Analogues

There has been considerable interest in the development of new anti tubercular agents particularly against multidrug resistance and extensively drug resistant strain of tuberculosis because mycobacterium species have developed resistant against currently used drugs. The currently use antitubercular drugs having toxic effect and long period of therapeutic treatment. Therefore, many researchers h...

The effect of thiolactomycin analogues on fatty acid synthesis in peas (Pisum sativum cv. Onward).

Thiolactomycin is an inhibitor of type I1 dissociable fatty acid synthases from plants and bacteria [ 1 1. The three P-ketoacyl acyl carrier protein (ACP) synthases in peas are all inhibited by thiolactomycin [2]. Condensing enzyme I1 (KAS II), which catalyses the elongation of palmitoyl-ACP to stearoyl-ACP is the most sensitive and the short chain condensing enzyme (KAS III), which catalyses t...

Demethoxycurcumin and its semisynthetic analogues as antitubercular agents.

Demethoxycurcumin, isolated from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, was found to possess antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H (37)Rv strain at 200 microg/mL. Derivatisation of this active principle yielded a potent agent 6, exhibiting considerable activity with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of 7.8 microg/mL. Antituberculosis agent diaportheone B: synthesis, absolute configuration assignment, and anti-TB activity of its analogues.

First synthesis of diaportheone B, an antituberculosis agent isolated from endophytic fungus Diaporthe sp. P133 is reported using two complementary routes, a one step and a three-step sequence. The absolute configuration of diaportheone B was determined by using X-ray crystal structure analysis of its dibromo derivative. In addition, we have prepared several close analogues of diaportheone B an...
